Older Formulas
About a year ago I got some information from Formula on a 29PC I was buying, I asked them if I could start a web site with sales information to help others with older Formulas, they never got back to me. I was on their site today and they now have a vintage Formula section with sales books. I hope everyone with older Formulas gets some info out of this.

Formula put me in the "Vintage Section", cool !!
That's Mrs. Thirdbird in the boat. Send your pictures in, lets fill that Vintage Section up!! (Of course, they've got some pretty late model stuff in there, hardly vintage:rolleyes: ) |

Thanks Chuck, I couldn't download it either. I'll try your suggestion.

I've been waiting for Formula to acknowledge all the older bird owners. Nice surprise for me to see that in the '88 cataloge that they annouced the F311 as winner of "Boat of the year", which means my '87 model probably was the one they reviewed. The F311 in depicted in the '87 cataloge is my boat exactly. It's also on the cover. I know it's old, but nice to see it was regonized back in it's day. Also, it kicks most of my friends new boats today anyways in both speed and offshore handling! Balsa / foam core boats are NOT for the Formula birds...

[i] Balsa / foam core boats are NOT for the Formula birds... [/B] I'll take my old resin bucket in the waves to any new one of equal size. Plus, it's kinda like a classic hot rod. Not the fastest, not the most advanced, but still cool and it still turns heads of both experienced boaters and newbies. I like my old Bird and I'm perfectly content with it (good thing, I can't afford a new anyway:) ) |
Re: Older Formulas
Help. I just recently purchased a 1978 R 26 SC Thunderbird and the previous owners have no manuals or wiring diagrams at all. The boat is in pretty good condition. It just needs some TLC. I would like to restore the interior of the boat but I need to know more about this model before I start this project. Can you help?

Re: Older Formulas
Jaybird and Thirdbird,
I couldnt agree with you more. If you asked anyone to draw a picture of a powerboat, you'd end up with a picture of a Formula. A True Resin Classic if ever their was one. Keep Rockin. :drink: |
