Oh, so that's what those were. I took the baffle out of my first little Honda motorcycle too. As far as the water not being able to drain out fast enough, just another reason to dump that damned box, I really don't like it.

Contact OSO memeber MagicFloat. He is a Formula dealer and can supply you with the proper seals and gaskets for the swim platform.

Happy to report my new bird is ROT FREE! Apparently the previous owners marine tech in Lake Tahoe thought he was servicing a Bravo series Mercruiser when in fact It’s an Alpha 1, 2nd generation 350 Mag so he neglected to use ANY gaskets, not one! Needless to say this allowed water direct access to the bilge. Replaced the gimbal, new seals, impeller etc. Now she is good to go! :D

No gaskets? What'd he do, use RTV?
Glad it's fixed but that other mech sounds like an idiot. |
Used nothing, nada, zero!! Yeah I would call him an idiot!

I am very careful though about coming off plane and backing up. ESPECIALLY into waves. Besides, mine's coming off. I looked in mine too, with a flashlight through the retangular flappers. I did not see any baffles...either. I can see the tip of the riser though :eureka:  just a big empty box with the in between chamber baffles 1/2 gone. |
Re: Silent Thunder Question
I'm yanking mine off, can't stand those rectangular exhaust tips.:blaster:
If anyone is interested I'd give them a deal on it. I won't have any need to keep it.:blaster: |
Re: Silent Thunder Question
Outlaw, what are you going to do when you want to get off the back of the boat? Tube platform?

Jump.....:eureka: I'm going to end up with an Extreme Marine unit in white...... Deb's making me put it on. She loves to dangle her feet in the water, while I "chum it" when she's not watching. :fish: :D |
