2005 Formula 382 Pace Boat

Had the opportunity to ride on the '05 Formula 382 Pace Boat at the GLSCS season opening race in Algonac, Michigan this weekend. If you haven't seen it yet, this is one very nice ride! Colors were blue/grey,orange, lime green, and a dash of red with a ghost "FORMULA" in light silver down the center of the foredeck. Dash is in red carbon-fiber with Livorsi platinum guages and throttles.

Power supplied by Mercury 575 SC's through XR/sportmaster lowers. Cockpit lay-out is 4-person bolster/rear bench configuration with intercom. Cabin features a Sharp 13" flat screen TV with hidden DVD player and is very nice improvement from older models ... I want to upgrade my '99 with this feature in the future!

I would like to thank Vic, Dan and Formula for their generous support of the Great Lakes Silver Cup Series medical/rescue team. Their participation and assistance is greatly appreciated.

And why not. I mean you made Lt. didn't you, Captain is only around the corner, then quite possibly Chief. Then AG of the USA. Then President.
Your career is only beginning my friend. Then you can appoint your OSO brethern as your Cabinet. Your first legislation you could sign into law would be eliminating all "manatee zones". Come on Trout, you can do this.....Russ

What?? I thought that you were going to collect the entire series of special edition factory calendar/display boats!

I keep hearing rumors that there's a 382 running around with "development" power somewhere. (I know there's a 400SS going together with some nice new diesels.)

Too bad the rest of the offshore world can't get it's collective $hit together well enough to make it worthwhile for Formula to support them. Keep the faith, GLSC guys. In the meantime, it looks like we'll see a lot more of the factory crew at Poker Runs and Rendezvous events....

2005 Formula 382 Photo Shoot (not Pace) Boat

I've got a picture - I've got a picture - I've got a picture. Neener, neener, neener.

Trust me - this thing is sharp. "WaveLazer", right Robert?

(Actually, it's no big deal. Formula sent pictures out in their E-Newsletter last week.)

Troutly,

Sorry ... haven't been able to break down and get a digital camera and software yet. Too much $$$ spent already this year in storage building modifications, windshield, drive repairs, upgrade to '01 F-350 4 X 4 Powerstroke, and gas.

If I had a camera with me Sunday, I could have had some great shots of the #27 Supercat going over. I was about 400 yards away when it flipped ... we called the incident to race control and were the second boat to arrive at the scene.

Think the State of Minnesota would mind if you loaned me your work camera for the next race? :D

I know how that goes. When I left my postiton with The University of Michigan, I had to return my Dell computer with flat screen monitor, unlimited internet access, digital video camera, and a generous continuing education allowance often used to attend dive medicine conferences in exotic places.

Good luck in your new position! Hope it leaves more time for family and boating.

It's the same silver metallic/pearl as used on the 400SS. I'm getting the paint directly from Formula. You can see how reflective it is in this shot:

Re: 2005 Formula 382 Pace Boat

Oh, a "flip-flop" type of paint. In the diagram you posted it looks like the new silver is going to be the primary color with white as an accent. Personally, I'd use the silver as an accent color to play off the white. It just looks to me, they way the diagram shows, it's going to be too much silver, but this is just my humble little, usually don't know what I'm talking about, opinions. I just might play on a computer and try some different schematics and ideas, that's all.

I personally just LOVE the all white scheme. I think it's beautiful. I like the "storm" graphics oh Scott's boat, but for me personally it's just a little to "busy". I like the KISS method. There is beauty in simplicity. Russ

Oh yeah, as a "deputized" member of "Cuda's Rangers" I am obligated to report this "bimini violation" to our commander. I believe the fine is "one ice cold beer".

Hey Scott, you are saying you don't want one of those 575's to self destruct on you?????? Good thinking! Wrink
