You have a 12v into the switch( red I believe) and one coming out to power the gauges and ignition(purple). The other one goes to the starter solenoid.

You want it in the purple coming off the switch , going to the engine(ignition)

Yea confused me about the ground wire too :confused: unless he has some fancy lighted switch? :)

mopower has it right....and the starter wire will probably be yellow.....may even have a tracer on it sometimes...
