How much deadrise?
Trying to figure out how much deadrise my 1986 F3LS has...As a second question how does more/less deadrise effect speed and handling? I assume that the deadrise would be the same as an 86 242LS but Im not sure. I would like to find out for sure...

Re: How much deadrise?
The 242 is a 24 degree deadrise. Less deadrise will usually give you a higher speed, but at a cost of pounding.

Re: How much deadrise?
I could have sworn I saw the deadrise of the boats listed on the Formula site in the vintage area, but I just looked, and it wasn't there. The boat is 21'6" and weighs 3500 pounds.

Re: How much deadrise?
Some Sonics are 25 degrees, but *most* V-hulls are 24 degrees, give or take a degree (some beak boat models are 23, I beleive)

Re: How much deadrise?
I think the 26 Donzi Zx is 23 degrees. I think this measurement may be a little deceiving. It is measure at the transom, but will gradually flatten out along the bottom. I don't think it is the end all in figuring how a boat will ride, but it may be the only hard figure to look at that can be compared from boat to boat.

Re: How much deadrise?
HeyBH, Have you been on Caesar Creek near Waynesville, Ohio? I thought I had seen that boat out there. I have a 292 and usually spot other Formulas when I'm out.
