311 Bolster Question
 

I need to remove the inside "legs", stanchions, uprights, whatever, from my bolsters. They have 2 #3 or 4 Phillips head screws on each "foot". Are these held in place by a threaded fitting, a nut or just screwed into the floor?

I don't know if there is a threaded fitting in floor or not. I did remove my inside legs to have them re-welded at the bases. Just removed the screws from the floor and at the seat bottom and out they came. Propped the bolsters while the legs were out just in case (didn't use the boat, just propped for peace of mind). Re-welded the bases and screwed 'em back in place. Easy.

That is exactly what I need to do, too. Glad they come out without having to pull the whole bolster from the boat!.

You shouldn't encounter any problems getting the legs out, pretty straight forward. Those bolsters are quite nice except for the whimpy bottom support welds. They are welded only on the back side with some sort of non-traditional weld joint. It's actaully not a typical joint at all. They just slobbered some low-heat crap weld in there from the back so it wouldn't show on the front (top). Anyway, have the legs welded to the flat base with some nice fillet welds like they should have in the first place.

It's obvious but, make sure your welder guy knows that's stainless steel.
