How fast

Ok, how fast is a 311 Fastech with twin 502 Mags, and how fast is a 292 with a pair 6.2 MPI's?

Potenitally looking to step up from my 271 Fastech with a HP500 EFI, but I do not want to go any slower, ideally a little faster (mid 70's target).

Re: How fast

I would just be guessing but I'd think they'd both be in the same ball park as far as top speed.

I assume you are talking about an older 311 (non-molded swim platform) vs. a newer 292 (molded swim platrorm). If that's the case then the 311 is a MUCH bigger boat. A new 353 is only about two feet bigger than an older 311. If you are referring to an older 292 then the size difference is much less. (Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they made both a 292 Fastech and a 292 SR1 with the SR1 being quite a bit bigger). So, it depends on what year 292 you're talking about.

I just noticed you wrote 311 Fastech. I don't think there is such a thing. The 311 were SR1s.

Re: How fast

In '99 when I bought my 271 they made a twin engine 31 footer, they dropped it when they came out with the 292. I am asking about the stepped bottom 31 footer with big blocks vs the new stepped bottom 29 footer with small blocks.

Only one I know of is the 312 FastTech, which in reality is a 29 or so footer with a molded swim platform.

Formula Outlaw has it, it is the 312 I am talking about, sorry my mistake on the 311.
