Let me start by saying this writer is not Thirdbird but, Diver, a good friend of his. I just wanted to let everyone know that Thirdbird's youngest daughter was in a very bad auto wreck on 09/11/2004. She has been in critical condition since that time. I went to the hospital today and saw Third and his wife, they seem to be holding up well under the circumstances. Prognosis at this time seems positive, however she still has a very very long way to go.

This is my first time on line since Gina's accident. It's been a tough week. My pretty little girl is banged-up pretty badly. She is out of the woods as far life-threatening issues. However, she (and we) have a long road ahead of us.

At some time during or shortly after the accident, Gina suffered a stroke. This has resulted in the loss of movement to the right side of her body. She also cannot speak at this time. We are in hopes that her young age (she's 19) and her strong will (she is very strong minded) will enable her to initialize other portions of her brain to compensate. Doctors have stated that this does happen but there are no guarantees.

To all of our OSO friends, Julie and I thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers. We have met some of you (the 1000 Islands Crew) but feel as though we know all of you.

Third, you are 100% correct in that youth, and a stong willed personality are on Gina's side.

Stay positive, and keep in mind that though healing takes time, excellent recoveries are commonplace with today's medical knowledge.

Please keep us posted as to her progress.
