She's on her feet!!!!!
The physical therapists have had our daughter on her feet!!!! Gina has walked using a cane for support the entire length of the therapy room, which is at least 100 feet long!!! I'm about as happy as I can be.
It's not like Gina is going to be truckin' down the street on her own next week but, this is astonishing progress. Her speech is coming along a bit slower but she can get a few words out. Gina is determined to whip this thing and she looks forward to the therapy sessions every day. Maybe all of your thoughts and prayers are helping. Keep 'em coming everybody. Thanks everyone, Dave and Julie (and Gina) |

Re: She's on her feet!!!!!
That is great news. She sounds like one tough as nails girl. Keep us posted and best of luck to ya. Did ya notice that people that like to work hard at things seem to be luckier then the ones that don't? :D Sounds like she wants to work real hard on this :D:D

Re: She's on her feet!!!!!
Third, that just great to hear. "Mind Over Matter".....Attitude is all the difference in the world. I completely shattered my shoulder in a motorcycle accident and was told it was a possibility I would never touch my face with my left hand, ever. I approached my physical theraphy with a "never say die" attitude. Today, I never know I broke it.
Again, just great to hear. Russ |
Re: She's on her feet!!!!!
Third: First off; Good to hear the great news. Your family is in my prayers. I should have shared earlier, but I have some words of encouragement. A few years ago my brother was the pedestrian in an auto-pedestrian accident. They did not expect him to make it through the night, much less the next day. He spent a month in the ICU and finally made it out. He had SEVERE head trauma and lost more blood than in theory possible. Long story short he is alive and well today. He made a full recovery and has NO lasting injuries.
Not long after that I was in a bad car wreck as well. I fell asleep at the wheel and hit a parked truck at 80 mph. I made it out at 100 % as well. So what I am saying is that miracles do happen, keep your chin up, smile every day, and know that she will be 110% in time. Dont lose faith things will turn out. Best Regards. |
