Re: Slight snag in exhaust swap out

I was just about to say that with the metal flex pipe, the main problem would be clamping it on and getting a tight seal. My advice is to either make a proper spacer (if that will solve the alignment issue), or trade in the tube risers for something a bit shorter and angled correctly. I don't think you would lose significant HP with a riser change.

I also concur with dgduck13 and know that you will not get a water tight seal. Not to mention, I don't think the USCG would approve of a hose that has the possibility of leaking H2O and exhaust fumes into your engine compartment.

Other than that, you might need to glass up your through hulls and make another set of holes...not exactly a fun project.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm just going to install 3 inch spacers, run the hose off the risers, add a slight curved pipe to make the angle correct back to the holes in the transom, run a hose to the new tips, and be done with it.

My flappers were much worse, and two were gone all together.

That box turned into a real bi*ch to remove. Someone had it off at one point and installed extra mounting bolts that we couldn't see. Had to call Mr. Saz-All to help with removal, he took care of that little problem with ease. :D

No, intended to, but at my follow up exam yesterday, xrays showed stitches holding fine but bloodwork showed an infection starting. "Doc" sent me home with these monster antibiotics with orders to do nothing and go nowhere for at least 72 hours so the antibiotics kill the infection.

So I'm lazin' it.

Daytime TV sucks.....

Done a lot of reading....

Boat goes up to the shop on either Monday or Tuesday morning to get the motor pulled to get the manifold off. Then it's "put it back together" time. Getting closer.
