Karen and I just got back from Formula. Here is a pic of the 1966 Formula Jr. on display in the lobby,basically unrestored,all original. Every year I ask about buying it,ever year the Porters just laugh :D

That thing is freakin' beautiful!!!!!!! I didn't even know they made such a boat, never seen one before. Looks like a Donzi Sweet Sixteen. Love the nice "boat tail" transom. Like to see more pics of that baby. Whats it got for gomotion? Looks like a pretty steep hull too.

If I ever stumble across one of those I'd have to buy it.

The reason it looks like a Sweet 16 is cause it was the forerunner of the Sweet 16. When Aronow sold Formula he sold the tooling for the Formula Jr with the deal,but the new owners didn't have time to make many,the Formula 233 was selling so well, (The Porters have on of those in the plant too) and when Aronow started Donzi he still had the wood plug,so he shortened it 8 inches and the Sweet 16 was born. The Formula Jr was actually designed first but the Donzi was better known.There are lots of old Donzi 16's around but a Formula Jr is really, really rare. I've got some more photos but Karen will have to post them,I'm computer challenged. :D Robert
