I suppose the location it's presently in would keep it from clicking on and off too much. Think I've seen two boats in my life that did not accumulate some water in the bilge during the course of a full day out on the water. Usually I pull the plug at the ramp and it streams out for about four seconds. I think it weep's in around the K-Planes. The caulking on those K-Planes is horrendous. Whoever did it was blind and must have used their big toe. I'm going to pull as much of it out as I can and redo it with 4200. (NOT 5200)

Can't understand how people do not understand that a good caulk job is one: it seals, and two: it isn't noticiable. Go figure.....

That pump location drives me NUTS ....like you said ..there can be ALOT of water in there before the pump comes on ...and then when it shuts down it leaves water in the Bilge ....I usually use a shopvac to get it all out ...I hate leaving ANY water in there to make Humid condtions ....
AND speaking of 5200 ....you should see all the fittings for my Silent Thunder after they put it back on .....I think they used a whole tube per U-Bolt .. Idiots ....

Russ ...if you do have water seeping in from around the Kplanes ... Better get it checked out.....might cause Rot in the Transom

Ya man if you are leaking around your K-planes get them fixed yesterday!!! Does not take long for water to get in there and it can take for EVER to get it out. Man if it took you a year to change your oil filters I can only imagine how long it will take for you to fix your transom   Like I should talk..... :drink: :drink:

Ouch! That's going to leave a mark.

And there's a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black. :D

Was screwing around in the bilge tonight getting ready to clean it and decided to check things out. After pulling half the muscles in my back, I got catywampused into a position with a mag lite and a mirror and checked around the K-Planes and saw no sign whatsoever of any water seeping in. I had only pulled that hunk of caulk out about three times out ago, should have razor knifed it out but I just saw this little piece and yanked on it and more came out than I figured.

I'm interested to see if I got my two center exhaust hoses leaks stopped. It was leaking where it clamps to the tips, so I repositioned the clamps, tightened them down with a hand socket driver, then got out the old three eights ratchet and really cranked those suckers down.

Now Jon, it only took me three weeks to get the oil filters swapped out. It just took twelve more months to do the rest of it. Still can't believe those four SS couplings cost me $ 210.00. That mark is STILL there....
