Please forgive me for jumping in.
But if memory serves me right didn't "Blown Away" a 382 Formula have Teague Whipples and Arneson ASD-6's?
Maybe you want to get in touch with Rik Wimp over at Arneson for his input.
The article in Powerboat a few months back was very informative but I have not heard about the boat or the Durability of the Drives since.
Good Luck

no I nothing about the boat that would pre-empt your buy.

clean and straight as far as I know.

I believe that's a boat I made a fair offer on and was turned away that's all. So I'm curious as to how much $$ it did bring a year and a half later.

I have never heard of a 353 with Arneson's so it's very hard to speculate!

I've heard of 525/Stellings/Bravo netting 88-89 MPH with lots of prop-chasing.

Pure speculation...but you would think with 700+ HP a side and surface drives 95 MPH

Handling? Who knows?

The 353 conversion with Teague motors ended up, I believe, using ASD-8 drop boxes instead of the ASD6 Bravo conversion. At least that is what I heard.

Re: 353 whippled arneson. How fast?

The 382 with the Teague 800's recieved 106 hard hours last season without a failure. The ASD6 Bravo Conversion Drives held up without a problem.

It was Tony's (the owner) first year without an outdrive failure.

As to what a 353 would do, ???. Same answer I gave Tony with his 382. More than likely a better cruise speed, better accelaration and a better top end like all the rest.

It's not a great unknown as we have been making these drives for over 20 yrs.

Rik, How about handling?
Ocean running..big water?
around the docks, etc.

How much power will ASD6 handle?

Thanks
