35 Formula
I Just Bought A 35 Ft FORMULA And I Am Wondering Why The Exhaust Goes Thru The Hull And Also Thru The Prop. Can This Be Changed To Just Thru The Hull?
|
Re: 35 Formula
Congratulations! Is it a 353 or 357? New or old? Got some pics?
Sounds like you've got a captain's choice exhaust. Do you have a switch on the helm to switch the exhaust loud to quiet? Yes, you can change out the exhaust to thru hull only. It's all just a matter of $$$. |

And a fountain?

Sounds like he's got something that starts with an "F".
But it rhymes with a DUCK and ends with an UP. :D |

Re: 35 Formula
Vindicator,
Congrats on the purchase of your new boat. Yes your exhaust can be routed to just through the hull. It sounds like what you have is a very nice option though. You should have the ability to choose one or the other with the touch of a switch. ( Captains call exhaust ) If this is not the case, it is possible that the hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinder may not be operating properly. We welcome questions from all boaters... Sometimes we get carried away with the kidding... Hope you get your question answered, happy boating. Doug |
Re: 35 Formula
Vindicator take a look and see if you actually have any electricaly actuated valves on you set up in the engine compartment. If there are no valves...there was an option from corsa where the exhaust exited through both through hull and the prop. This actually is not a bad set up, should be quieter than just muffled exhaust with less back pressure.
The exhaust does not actually go through the prop either, if you look in the bell housing rather than exhaust bellows connecting the drive and the bell housing there should either be a tube or nothing at all. if you would want to change the set up it would require that you pull the motors, remove the Y pipe and install a exhaust block off plate. hope this helps |
Re: 35 Formula
We already went through all this on the thread that he started stating that he just bought a 35 Fountain with the same exhaust problem.
His next thread will be asking the Donzi guys why his new 35ZR exhaust goes out the transom and the prop. |
