We sold our 27 Fever and went looking. A 32 was where we set our sights. Found out a few things. 32 cockpit dimensions are same as 27. 29 with single is actually much bigger. All of the additional "space" in the 32 is in the engine compartment and cuddy. You get most of the additional length in the form of a countertop and sink. Seating/berth in the cuddy is about the same as the 27. Engine compartment length is really not "usable" space. Yes, the running surface is longer, and should ride better than the 27 or 29, but how much better ?? 32 also had some issues with rear end sitting so low in the water - especially later 32's with the air vent holes in the rear! We opted for a 2001 29 with HP500EFI and put the rest of the boat money in investments and will just skip the 32 and buy a 35 or 38. I personally think you would be much happier with a 35. 32's are not one of Fountains stronger selling models, for whatever thats worth.

I went from a 27 to a 32 a few years ago and was very satisfied. The 32 is a much better ride. Yes they do set low in the back but I’ve never had a problem. The 35 is a bigger boat which also has a bigger price. That’s the way it works. If you have an extra 25-40K to spend go for the 35. Better yet, if you have 800k extra get a 46 Skater. It’s all relative. The 32 Fever is a great boat.

Re: value of 32

If I remember correctly, the 35 that Too Old had listed was a 98 with Myco trailer, 500's, really clean, blah, blah, blah, and it ended up selling in the mid-upper 80's. I think a person who goes by "thats it" bought it and in one of his posts he said what he paid for it. Local fountain dealer has offered me a couple of clean, fresh water 1998 - 2000 35's on trailers, mostly with 500's for 90K - 105K, depending on the actual boat, options, trailer, and what $$$ he has in it on trade. We have not bought one basically because it is $$$ to legitimately insure a 35 with 500's and storage/trailering becomes an issue for me. 35's with 502's or 496HO's are about 2K less to insure. Interestingly, though a 353 Formula with 500's is relatively cheap to insure!

I 2nd that - you can pick up a 35 in your price range no problem - had a '27 - been on '32 - 35 is a different animal. Its a well balanced boat.

If your tow vechicle will handle it, by all means skip the 32 and go with a clean but older 35 - which you can find in the same price range.

Having gone from a 27 to a 35, and now to a 38, I wish I had skipped the 35 and gone straight to the 38. But regardless, the 35 is a great boat. Much better than the 32.

Are you saying that the 27 and 29 have no countertop and sink... I have additional seating beside my sink that the smaller ones dont and can safely run 80 all day ,I have seen 27's chine walk at 65.....Founatin personel have said that the 32 was overpowered as a big block boat and people complained when they took the big blocks out so they axed it , I love mine .
