i always thought it was the windshield.

The 42' and the 35' were the lightning series until the new deck with the windshield was introduced sometime in 98 or 99. The 27', 29’, 32’, and 38 were called Fevers. Now they are all called classics. The new lightning's, especially the 35', have more efficient hulls. I wish Fountain would put that killer hull under the classic series.

im surprised that fountain wouldnt offer the classic decks on there 35 with the new twin step bottom. in 98 i ordered a new 42 with the big step bottom and the classic deck instead of the raised deck. and actually if you look close at a classic deck with the later hull you gain about 3-4inch in freeboard and you notice it at the helm and climbing down below. maybe a dealer or saleperson can shed some light on the subject. can you order a 35 twin step bottom with the classic deck? can you order a 38 fever with the classic deck with the new big step bottom. the classic deck 42s or a little lighter i believe than the new windshield boats. and did you see in motor boating the fountain add with the new 48 cruiser i think i have just found the boat for when im tired and ready to go to pasture. how many boaters do you think would be surprised at trying to keep pace with a cruiser at 70+ what a gas! i also love the 47 sport cruiser.

Classic deck, new hull - give me that in a 35 and I'd have my next boat. That 48 Sport Cruiser sure does look like a possibility for when I'm ready to slow a little (or just have a bit more comfort).

Later.
No such luck. The classic 35 is only available with the single step. The hull has not been revised since they originally put the step in. Are you sure about the 42 classic Hull? That would definitely be the way to go, best of both worlds

candyman35 there has been many 42 classic deck big step hulls made since the tall deck was introduced in 98. raymonds at loto has a brand new 2000 classic deck with the big step boat for sale. they dont advertise the classic deck but if you ask it is available. lates what made me think that they may still offer the classic deck 35 with ther lastest and greatest twin step 35 or for that matter
the 38. i stop in raymonds at the lake often and i will ask. the amasing thing is fountain builds production boats unless you want something special and then he can build anything.

Later,
I tried to have two stripes added to the Art deco graphics. Two one inch stripes above the rubrail. I was told it would be an additional 2900.00.
There custom stuff is outrageously expensive and my only real complaint with Fountain.

BTW, Raymonds has a really good deal on a 35 classic.
