42 Cockpit Cracks
 

Why do the earlier model 42 lightnings crack in the forward port(rt) corner of the cockpit, mine, and four others.

I'd give Fountain a call and ask.
Ask for Jeff Harris at 252-975-7007. He is the director of customer service. Steve Harrelson would be another contact at 252-975-7006. Steve hasn't been very good at returning calls these days. :(

my 90 40 lightning and my 98 42 both had those gel coat cracks. like a stress crack very light in nature. that is the only place i have ever seen a crack on either boat and even then very minor im not worried. and has never caused a problem

I meant left, but i guess you new what port was, LOL. I left a message at fountain. Tom who I deal with in GH has had probably 15 of those boats and said, you fix it, it'll be back. :confused: :mad:
