Can you tow with a cockpit cover

Can you tow with a cockpit cover in place, going to the lake and lots of rain

Do it all the time. Put the poles in to keep it from flapping too much. Also be sure the rear snaps stay snapped or the cover (snaps) will whip the crap out of the rail (powdercoat) and gel.

Mine goes from bow to the base of the windshield. Towed with it on all the time until...once the back half (cockpit part blew offf and flapped in the wind, barely saw it in time and luckily I was ona road I could safely stop and get it. I think I had all the snaps on but cannot be 100%, either way I have not towed with it on since.

My typical vacation...rest area on a 400 mile trip So. Jersey to N.H.
Observe the rain. I use a trick of putting some round foam pipe insulation over the top of the windshield. Makes the cover tighter and tends to seal better at the windshield.

Never tow without it on and it always stays put with all the snaps Fountain installs. Towed my last Fountain a couple of times w/o the cover and the whole inside was dusty as heck. I think there must be a wind suction thing going on and all the dirt from the highway ends up inside the boat.

when my boat was shipped to PA from FLA, they used a clear tape all the way around the cover to make sure it didn't un-snap and fly off.

Change the front snaps to the twist locks, and your cover will never blow off.
