Are there any replacments for the little white spot lights in the engine compartment mine are broken and hanging by the wires :evilb:

Mine are the same way. I hear it's a common problem. With the base of those things being so small and the beating they go thru, it's no wonder they all break. I have been going to look at some RV supply places to see what them may have but there always seems to be something higher on the list.

Im thinking of buying some of those gold colored metal ones you see at Marine supply stores and painting them white.......

I bought a direct replacement at BoatUS but it was expensive. When the next one broke the same way (at the base), I machined a new base out of billet AL. I think that someone else here also made a new base for theirs out of nylon, delrin or some other plastic material.

Do a search on this. Someone had great replacements but cannot remember where.

I made them from delrin. Hit them many times and still there. Was going to go with AL, but the delrin machines so much faster. And for those Gov't jobs, time is a factor. :D

was looking at a new Cig at the lake they used Tractor Work lights like the ones you see on Cat equip.. Pretty durable

I used the factory style marker lite that the Fountains have on the center on the transome for nite drivin. No more mount to break!!! Thinking about blue bulbs to fit, so at nite when the hatch is open has a nice blue glow to match all me blue anodized parts, just can't find them???!!!

Try Auto Zone or Pep boys They are good for the Rice rocket parts they may have what you want in blue bulbs

One of my friends, goes by 27fountain on OSO, was making the bases out of aluminum. Several of us in Cincinnati have them now and they are really nice. I had mine powdercoated for an extra $7, for both. Not sure if he is making anymore, but the ones that he made are nice. No more worries about the bases breaking. I think I paid $20 each for the bases, but that was over a year ago and can't remember that far back, anymore. :(

BT we talked about these lights a year ago, You had said your friend was making them. Mine from the factory broke also. I bought the ones for a 2004 29, they work fine , but I would like to take a look at these others can you post a pic.

I thought the 'dangling wires' setup had been tested and PROVEN on the racecourse. Mine are that way right now, and have proven to be very durable in that configuration. The only problem is that they flail around some, and don't work at all, when it comes to providing light.

When I started reading this thread, I just KNEW that US1 would chime in with the killer home-fabbed solution.

BUT - completely WORTHLESS without pics. Sorry bud. . . . However I am constantly amused by your ingenuity. Please post pics. Maybe fab me a set. . .

Mine worked fine in the "dangling wire mode"!!! All I can say is they never got in the way!!! :D :D :evilb:

yes, more flexible in the dangling mode.

I would have taken and posted pictures, but to be honest, I did such a great job making them look exactly like the originals that you would have thought it was just a picture of a non broken light. ;) But then again, is there such a critter? :drink:

The more I think about those lights, Who has time to be looking and working on there motors after dark. More weight and less speed. and besides By the time the sun goes down if you have as much fun as we do you would not even be able to see with them on any way. CHEERS

this is a prop ? for you all.A friend just got a 27 Fountain out of Florida .It has a 502 that had a 6000 build up .They said that it was kicking out 500 hp . it has a 4 blade hydromotive on it that came stock on the boat .The boat comes out of the hole some what slow .plane time seams slow . top speed is 68 mph .I don't rember the rpm . want to know what prop might be a better prop to get .

I'd try a 26 or 28 bravo 4 blade on it

THOSE LIGHTS SUCK, TO SMALL AND TO CHEAP, JUST LIKE THE HORNS. I REMOVED MINE FROM MY 06 AND INSTALLED
THE LARGER MARINE TYPE 12V COCKPIT FLOODS. THEY ARE
RECTANGULAR ABOUT 4x6 WITH A STAINLESS BRACKET.

The lights are available direct from fountain if you call the customer service # then go to the parts desk. They are kinda of hard to get a hold of over there but they have em. $35 each. Just got them for my 27.

one of mine were broke when i bought my 94 27fever.i got the whole assembly = bulb from a local marine store.it was not cheap....100.00+.if you need the companys name let me know

the dangle mode is sexy and out of the fn way broke both mine the first time i did rutine maint.
