05 35x vibration coming on plane

Just got to run by brand new 35 X this weekend.
It feels like there is a vibration when accelerating
to get on plane. After its on plane it feels fine.
It doesnt really feel like a engine skip, more like
a vibration.Rpm is dead even at wot, top speed feels
good ( 75mph,5 people,full tank of gas). 496's
bravo ones. I think it has 32 bravos for props, but
not sure. (it was delivered to my dock). Anyone have
any ideas? Dealer took a ride & feels it also, but doesnt
know what it is either.

Yea,I was thinking the same thing. You would think
they would make sure it was right before it leaves
the factory or catch it when the do the performence
test.

If it was an alignment issue, why would it go away when it got on plane? Sounds like props are experiencing some cavitation. Get your hands on a set of props. Try getting on plane with a different set. Even if the pitch isnt exactly right, you dont have to run the boat wide open, just see if it still vibrates getting on plane. Its the easiest thing to check first. How are you getting on plane? Drives tucked in? are you using the tabs? How much throttle are you giving it to get started? I am sure you already tried using different drive settings and tab setting to see if the vibration gets worse or better. One last question, is the vibration in the steering wheel, or do you feel it in the floor of the boat with you feet, or body.

I am not sure this is the same thing but both my 29 and 38 act the same way: If you give it too much throttle when planeing off, the props will ventilate. If you accellerate slowly, the props chatter and cause a vibration. The same thing happens when you are coming off plane and cut the throttles, the props slap the water.

Try and find the minium speed the boat will stay on plane and the same thing happens.

I think this is because of the drive height. A Maximus 5 blade acts completely differently in this regard.

I doubt it is the alignment.

Its just prop cavitation. Make sure the drives are as low as they can go , and when you feel it just back off a little, it will go away. Try to ease the boat up instead of nailing it.
Dont worry, this is normal with the high X dimension that Fountains have. Enjoy your boat,

I agree... I can experience the same in our 05/35 Lightning, but only at a specific rpm coming out of the hole, back off 200 and she goes away.

Thanks everyone. I was wondering if it was cavatation and thought
if it was, someone else would be experience it also. I never really
felt cavitation, only prop blowout on all my other boats. All try changing
the rpm and report back after this weekend.
