35 Lightning Fuel Cap

Simple enough question. Can anyone tell me what the fuel capacity is of the 1997, 35 Lightning? I believe it is about 78 gallons each tank.

thanks

Interesting question. I thought my 97 had 79 gallon tanks. Come to find out, the hard way  , that Fountain used 69 gallon tanks for part of 1997. I also found out that my 69 gallon tank only had 65 gallons of usable gas. The pickups do not go to the very bottom of the tank. This is by design. I would call the factory and give them your hull number to find out for sure. They will be able to tell you. Another way to tell is look at the bulkhead your trim pumps are mounted on. You have the larger tanks if there is a step that comes back into the engine compartment.
