boat upgrade
I am looking at a total upgrade on my 35 Fountain. Have talked to a couple of paint shops about repainting boat with new graphics. Seems like $10M-12M will get me a total new paint job more in line with todays graphics. Now looking at the cockpit and would like to change the colors of the trim on the bolsters, rear seats and side trim between bolsters and rear seats. Anybody done anything like this and what kind of problems to expect and costs? Can it be done and look original? Any upholstery shops located in Midwest( Illinois) that you can recommend. Appreciate any input-- looking at winter project.

I Did my 91 32 fever completly over. To give you an idea on cost.
complete new interior, had a local powder coater do all my grab rails, throttles & seat rails. Found an embroidery shop do my seat backs. 6k. New graphics & rub rail 9k. New dash & gauges 2k New exhaust & tips,3k. Had to do all labor myself. R & R of interior is about a 20 hr job.Dash is another 4hrs,but & rewired mine,so make it 8 hrs. Downtowns right though, you will never get the money back out. so only do it if you really plan on keeping the boat. |

You should probably check out my thread. I bought a 2000 38 fever without power and had it totally redone - new paint, new interior, dash, windshield - carpet. I had it done at the fountain repair faciltiy just a few miles from the factory in NC. On the + side, everyone thinks it's a brand new boat right out of the factory. It's a fountain repair facility so everything is done just like it is done at the factory. On the down side, it's a long ass haul to NC; and they picked the boat up in Dec, and I only just got it back a few weeks ago. Before I sent anything back to them I would probably make them sign an agreement in blood stating when my boat would be returned. But it looks really nice. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=91204 Check out the before and after on that thread. If you are going to change the interior then I would have either fountain or their repair facility do it. I've seen some aftermarket interiors redone on fountains and they just don't look like the real deal factory quality. |

Re: boat upgrade
I agree and have yet to see anyone be able to reproduce the fit that the factory interior has, even when the old interior was used as a pattern.
