Another Dumb Question...
42 Lightning - 2005
When I fill up the main fuel tanks, I get no warning before it "spews" fuel out the vents. In previous boats I could keep a close eye and ear on it near the top and hear it getting close. I've been embarrassed a couple of times on the trailer after giving someone a nice new douse of gasoline cologne... and I surely don't want to dump fuel into the water at a marina. How do you guys do it? Thx |
Re: Another Dumb Question...
my 93 35 and 05 42X does the same thing. When pumping on High speed I will slow down easily as I get to 3/4 full and then lock lever on lowest speed. Pumping on high speed and then an abrupt stop makes mine spit out also. I don't like it either.

Re: Another Dumb Question...
Both my Fountains do the same thing. I now listen for it to start getting full, then back off the flow. Still spews out the vent, but not bad now.
Must be a Fountain design. ;) |
Re: Another Dumb Question...
Mine too. You have to go slow at the end, Real pain!
I just bought one of those suction cup plastic jugs, It seems it should work good but I have not tried it yet. |
