Re: Props for my 35 Lightning
I owned a 98 year model 35 Lightning equipped as follows;
525 SC's Stelling Extension Boxes Shorty Drives with 1:50 gears 33 X 15.5 Spinelli props I had a high X-dimension from the factory and I would push 90 MPH I blew an engine and bought a pair of 600 SC's from Cobra, with the same setup I obtained approximately 5 MPH over the 525 SC's. I ran the hell out of the boat and finally sold it to a person in Canada. Fountaindriver |

Re: Props for my 35 Lightning
last weekend we had the fountain out . the weather was sunny water is getting cold and the air temp was a little chilly and the lake had a nice little chop. This boat ran 88mph on gps and all summer 80. took it out last night and got 84.3, so the boat will run the speeds that it calulates but everything must be purfect. I would like to see the 88 in mid summer, maybe try spinning a smaller prop next year.

Re: Props for my 35 Lightning
must have been nice to see speeds approaching 90 - unfortunately conditions are usually less than favorable during the season. Nice to know what it's capable of nonetheless. :drink:
