New Headrest Needed

1 Attachment(s)
My Mustang life jacket snagged and pulled the stitching on the headrest at latest poker run.

Has anybody ordered new to match from Fountain and if so how much $$.

Want to take care of this winter, boat is an 05 and has not experienced any stitch fade so new should match current (I hope)

maybe if the stiching is loose like and can be snagged like that it would be a warranty issue???

Jonas,

05 delivered May last year.... but it was my fault anyway, headrest was in perfect shape before run. I will be seeing the gang and LC Marine soon for winterization and will probably order, just trying to find out the $$$ hit or if anybody has something out there I could buy.

What about pulling the snag back down from the backside? You will have to pull the cover off anyway to replace it so why not try to repair it first. Good luck. :)

Didn't even think of that, I will give it a try.

Next dumb question. How do you take the headrest off, are there bolts hiding under padding. (sorry boat is not close to look)

I can't see anything in your pic. If it is almost unnoticeable, trim snag close and touch it with a small small tootpick drop of nail polish, just enough to seal/harden it. If it lasts fine. If not go back to plan A.

Dave,

I really only put that pic up to show colors needed and it is from day of delivery (it's only shot I have). I don't think I even want to shoot a pic of the front side now.... it's pretty messed up :(

Call the factory and ask for Robert Toyler - he's in charge of the interior dept.
He did the new interior on my boat and will know what to do.

On the older ones, you had to go up through the bottom of the seat. If I remember correctly there were 2 screws that held the headrest in place. A flashlight and l-o-n-g phillips screwdriver is all that you may need. I have not worked on the newer injection molded seat but I would still look from underneath.
