X-Dimension
Some recent talk of X heights...
Mine from factory is 19 1/2. |
Re: X-Dimension
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that the X-Dimension is the distance from the center of the propshaft to the center of the crankshaft....
|
Re: X-Dimension
DragonFire,
It's measured from the center of the prop shaft to the running surface directly in front of the drive. |
Re: X-Dimension
Thanks Lofty.....
I've had that eroneous info in my head for8 years.... |
Re: X-Dimension
It is center of crankshaft to running surface. Otherwise 19.5" would be pretty high! It is usually around 18+"'s

2 Attachment(s)
Dave....from what i have heard there is about 3-4 to be had with -2 Sportmasters and herring 6 blades.
This is an 06 42 that has the power and X height to run 92mph....this "IS" the best setup 42 Ex out there. http://www.chicagofountain.com/details.php?boat_id=147 |
Re: X-Dimension
Back4More, you said the word "power". It is my understanding that you need extra power to run these ultra high x-dimensions. I was told that simply raising the x-dim on a boat like mine (HP500 powered) will not gain speed unless I add HP. Is this true?

Re: X-Dimension
The term "power" was meant that this Ex is a 92mph setup with the 600SCi's
