Fountain Windshield

How hard is it to replace the tinted plexiglass windshield on a 2000 29 Fever? Anyone with any experience that have done it?

Thanks,

Mike

Are you meaning just the sides or the front also?

The sides are a peice of cake. Haven't done the center though myself.

Mine is a 93 but I did replace the front windsheild. Not very hard to do. However the holes for the snap screws were in a slightly different place. Had to have a couple of snaps moved on the boat cover but not a big deal. Make sure youe get the correct sealant and be careful when putting it on. It can get messy. I put masking tape on the boat in case I got some where I didnt want it. I didnt need to replace the side panels but they should be about the same. I did have a couple of the screws the sandwich those plastic pieces at the corners give me a bit of a problem. The bottom ones are a bit tough to get to to hold on the dash side if they want to turn. Yours being newer maybe they will come out with no problem. Once the screws wre all out and the corner pieces off I just pulled it forward from the top and the sealer let go at the bottom.
You may have to cut the sealer thou.

Good luck

Jerry.

I did what Jerry B said when I replaced my side panels. Used electrical tape/painters tape along all the mating surfaces of the panels and the hull leaving just enough gap for the silicone. Leave the paper on the panels until after all is done. The tape and paper makes for an enormous time savings as your not trying to keep the sealant off the panels are hull when shaping/forcing the sealant into the joints, plus it giv es a perfect straight line. Very clean looking. I would guess the same for the w/s itself, but have heard some say theirs are thru bolted.
