I think it's bang-for-the-buck... An aggressive Super-V team can run 20+ races per season between SBI and OSS, and be pretty much guaranteed good competition and good air coverage. Sponsors love this.

SVL, on the other hand, is really only going strong with OSS. There's a few on the SBI tour, but larger numbers with OSS. Less competition, less air coverage, less bang for the buck.

However, I REALLY like the idea of a 32' 4 seater, single engine Poker Run edition. :cool:

With the new fountain production schedule. 7 fishboats to 3 sportboats a week. They are not interested in bringing back a 32' sport boat. Over the last few years the only motors that made sense were the 377 scorpions. Since merc quit making them and fountain will not put bigblocks in the boat the boat was cut loose. We have a 29 f1 boat that set the kilo a few years back for sale if anyone is interested for 55k. 87mph with a 500efi.

Key point here is Single Engine. Whether it be Poker Run or SVL trim, even if it would take a hull tweek or two, might open up some new markets.

Imagine a 4-seater that might come in in the low-mid $100's. Fountain proven hull, and only one motor to maintain or worry about. Might look attractive to someone not ready to step up to the cost of a twin setup.

Just a thought...

I'd like to see Fountain build a 42 Fever staggered. I think the Fever is the best cockpit and the 42 is the best hull for offshore. Would make a great combo. :D
