Small red dash indicator lights
Are they LED's or bulbs? Need to replace 1 of them. Just as soon have the same.
They are the flat lensed ones. Thanks |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
They are sealed beams. I have them in stock, it's standard Livorsi part. Around $4 each.

Re: Small red dash indicator lights
Lofty,
Mine have the flat lenses and are made by SoLiCo, installed in 5/16" hole. Livorsi's say install in a 1/4" hole. Also shows them with a domed lens. This is the manufactures site. http://www.solico.com/solico_02.pdf Shows them available as LED or Incand. What I am trying to match.... Thanks |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
You can get those straight from Fountain. I called looking for some white ones for my dash but all they have is chrome.
I'm going all new so i think i'm going to go with those solico ones. thanks for the link. |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
Their home page lists their distributors, but might try the 800 number tommorrow anyways.
Did they give you a price? |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
no, i'll try calling the 800 number, probably next week. i hope they're not too much, this new dash is already expensive enough as it is.

Re: Small red dash indicator lights
Those older switches like you have shown in pic #3 are also impossible to get too. The replacement switches are no match for the earlies ones.

Support your boat factory. :evilb: But i don't want chrome. I'll gladly pay twice that to get white, like everything else on the dash. |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
When I get my new ones next week, I'll cut the chrome bezel off the bad one to see if it is an easy job.

We had a dash update to do on a 1990 Fountain, so I kept all the switches off the old dash. Now, I have a bunch of spares that I know will fit right. :D |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
My boat is a 1991. I plan to reuse all the switches. I did notice that one of the toggles feels a little different than the others, perhaps is has been replaced. But all the boots look the same so i don't really care what the switch looks like underneath, it's not like anyone else will be touching them anyway.
I just started taking off some of the wires. There was one connector underneath there that was plugged in, with all the wires tied neatly in place but going nowhere. I don't know why they didn't just eliminate the connector, i just took it right out. That wiring is a bit of a rats next, i'm going to clip everything and label it then run everything a lot more cleanly. |

Did they give you a price? $500 minimum order from the factory. they checked distributor inventory and they don't have what I want. Distributors have to make a minimum 25 piece order, and i only want maybe 10. If they're $2 each, though, i'll buy 25. |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
Price isn't bad, $2.19 each, but the potential 6 week lead time might really suck. That's if i order 25 to get the ones i want. They have black bezel ones in stock, i want white. I'll probably just order the chrome ones from the factory.
Do the new lights from the factory have raised lenses, or flat/flush lenses? |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
I assume just the flat lenses as there was no discussion of the raised lens.
I ordered mine last Thur morning and assumed they would have been here by now since they said they were going to be shipped out the same day. Maybe tommorrow...... |
Re: Small red dash indicator lights
Hell with it. I'm reusing the old lights. I screwed one of them up pulling it out but i need one less light on this panel since there's no seperate switches for each bilge pump.
I can't get what i want, the ones i can get more or less look like the ones i have or chrome, and i don't really want chrome. The black rims on the lights will match the black rubber boots on the switches, and the crappy old steering wheel i'm reusing. |
