First runs in my 29

Finally got it this week. Tryed a labbed 28 and ran out of revs at 73, will get with T.U. and put something bigger on. Depth finder is not working, it has power but won't read. Sensor??? Any help on this would be appreciated, will post in tech section too. By the way, how about a vid of the run???

My depth finder only work at still. At idle speed it would quit registering.

Mine works all the way to 55-60. How accurate it is I'm not really sure on that. Last year mine stopped working and I had to reseat the transducer.

Might depend on where it is mounted. In the bilge it should work all the time, under the step and I am not so sure

The waiting sucked, then it showed up with NO PROP, Julie hooked me up with a used labbed 28 that turned out to be too small, but I was glad to get out on the water. Did I hang out with you in Miami???

What kind of power in your 29? I can turn a labbed 28 to 82 gps with no rev issues. Are you turnning right or left?

Re: First runs in my 29

Single 525 LH rotation. The prop is a used one that Julie (throttle up) had laying around. It was labbed by Merc, not by them. One of the blades didn't look right anyways so it will go back when I get the stock non-labbed one in and start getting some base runs in. There was a lot of slip, that much I could tell. But hey, it beat sitting around, drinking beer and staring at a boat sitting in the driveway all weekend. :D

Looked and sounded like you started off digging up the shallows but then the motor started singing those sweet sounds :D

Killer video!

Re: First runs in my 29

It ran 78 today on a heavy load of fuel. If I stayed in it for a bit more time, might of squeezed out 79 or close to 80. A good labbed prop is in this boat's future :evilb: :evilb: :evilb:
