does anyone make a bracket or anything that could be mounted in the engine compartment...? If I put it under the rear seat I will have no where for the life jackets.....

Re: Anchor Storage...?

My previous boat had a laundry basket (I think) held in place with a couple of peices of rope next to the motor. I used it for the bumpers mainly, but will work for anything.
Any type of basket would do the trick

West Marine carries straps that clamp over the bow railing of cruisers to hold anchors. Those will work too. May take a bit of modifying to screw them to your bulkhead. Just a thought.

For that matter. just a couple of hooks from your local hardware store to hold the anchor upside down by the bar. If you have a fluke type anchor.

Re: Anchor Storage...?

I would put mine in a nylon bag with the chain and rope and put it in the engine compartmet secured down so it would not move. I'll look for a pic.

I cut about 1.5" off each end of my anchor, just enough so it will fit under the seat.......I know the extra length of that top bar helps stabilize the anchor so it will set properly but it works fine and I anchor quite a bit...........doug

I did the same thing, cut off the rods flush with the flukes to fit in the rear seat.. I never understood what good the extra 3" or so per side the rod did. Never been a problem so far.
