32'er w/ single 525 ? ? ? . . .

I'm bored, and considering gas prices and all . . . .

Just outta curiosity, how would a 32'er go with a single 525. . . maybe mildly 'enhanced' ? ? ?

The Fountain website says a 29'er w/525 runs 77 . . . that's only like 3mph slower than my t-502's get right now. . . I wonder how much I would lose ( after all, *according to OSO* it's only really like a 19 footer ).

I would certainly run lighter by several hundred pounds.

Good question.

At this point, if you're looking at financing a used boat, the price of the boat is secondary to the operating costs. Even if i could afford to upgrade from my 27 to a 32 or 35, i couldn't afford to feed twins. So i wonder what a 32 would do with a single 525 or even a single diesel.

I wish i could put a duramax in my boat and run it on biodiesel or even waste vegetable oil.

My Guess The Boat Would Run The Same As A 29,or You Could Go With 600sci And The Boat Would Run 80+ That Is My Guess,my 32 With 502's Would Run 80 All Day No Matter What Fuel Load Or How Many People Were In The Boat,i Love The Midrange In A 32 With Twins

I guess last year was the last of the 32's............at least for now. Don't know off the top of my head how much heavier as 32 hull is than a 29.
With fuel prices, it might be better for a single version say a 600 or 700 sci but with the dual drives so you can get the holeshot/docking benefit as well. That would be cool.

A 32' Fever with a single anything engine with 600 hp and up would be awesome. With a 600 or the new 700 from Mercury it would be one fine poker run boat. With just one engine it would no longer be considered an a$$ dragger. I would think a 32' with at 600 would run at least as fast as it does with twin 502 Mags (80 mph range) and with a 700 it should be pushing 90. This could be a good hedge against the high gas prices.

How much does a 502mag mpi weigh ? ? ? vs a new 525 ? ? ?

I gotta admit, the idea intrigues me. I boat in the Pacific, so the extra 3ft of the 32'er over the 29'er helps some.

Or you could just go w/ a raylar 750hp w/ a konrad drive.

There is a 32 sutphen out there w/ a single and is supposedly a great riding boat.

I think Powerboats NW was rigging an Illmor in a 29' so one in a 32 should kick some donkey :D
