Any 35' Single Steps Approaching 100mph?

If so, what did it take to get the boat there? How does this boat handle at these speeds? What drives were you using? Thank you.

I'm shooting for the same thing. I will try it with hp500s/prochargers at around 750-800hp. Just got the intercoolers today. Mav35 is running around 110mph in his 1997. Mine is a 1995.

I think 10X, Frank, is running 850 hp a side ? and runs 110 or 116 mph something crazy... :evilb:

Yes, I have a 2000 35' single step that runs 100+. 588cu in., 845hp, stelling boxes, XR drives w/ 1in. shorter lower halves. Right now running bravo props 15 1/4 x 32, and it is definitley under propped. No problems handling, but i've been driving fountains over 100 for 12yrs.

Looks like I won't have quite enough horses with my 540's. Those are some big engines turning an insane amount of hp!

Did you see a good gain from the extension boxes and 1" lowers?

Good luck, also, to the person using the prochargers - how much hp do you expect with that set-up?

Not at first, then took boxes off and raised all the way up. Then worried about drive shaft angle so I raised motors up an inch. Then had to change exhaust tips on headers, ouch $1800, and noticed some top end gain. Then put 1in. lowers and noticed maybe 4-5mph total. The big difference was when I went from a dart 360 head to a dart big chief head. It gained over 100hp from the head switch, but took alot of work to get the heads to fit in the boat b/c the extra width of the heads.

Frank's boat is a 10 Meter. No steps back then. Just lots of HP. :D

Knucklehead - I was considering going with the lowers this year but want to see what my existing set up will do first. My x-dim is at 17 1/4 according to Fountain. Do you think I'm leaving some mph on the table because of drive height?

Explain more on the exhaust tips. I had my tails changed so that water is introduced as far back as possible, so I had to have special tailpipes made by CMI - $2,100. Now the pipes are through my transom by 7 inches.

My X is 16 3/8 according to the performance report.

rebel heart-Not sure on your x-dim. if you dont have boxes I would try the 2in. shorter lower halve. If there to high you can space them down. I dont think you would half to. On the exhaust tips I rase my motors up 1in. the exhaust tips just would not go on I tried everthing.
