Kicky Donkey at Jax Poker run!!!
 

I did the Friday run to St. Augustine but got a late start. Some other boats were running with me, but some made the turn south down the ICW and went the rest of us came around the corner at Mayport and started to run the inlet, everyone else disappeared as well. When I reached open water I saw 2 more boats sitting out there, so I approached to see what was up. Evidentally the ride out there scared the crap out of one of the female passengers, she was crying and shaking and the guy stated that they were going to have to go back inside. Then whoever was left, including a cat all turned around. I on the other hand, checked my VHF, donned my vest and switch, set a course on the GPS and pointed the boat south. :evilb: :evilb: What a frickin ride!!! No wind but sets coming in almost from due south, so I was able to run into them. They averaged 4 to 5 I believe with some bigger ones thrown in (easy 6's) I ran between 50 and 60 all the way down. Never did I ever feel I was pushing the boat even though there were many times when I was wondering when I would land. I damn near took a dolphin out as well, it pulled one of those sea world jumps right in front of me, what a sight! Anyways, a little over 30 minutes later, I was in St. Augustine and caught up with the rest of the pack. I told a few people that I ran outside and that raised an eyebrow or two, (not sure if they thought I was crazy or if it was a form of respect). I asked around but I'm pretty sure I was the only thing under 32' out there. Correct me if I'm wrong, there were a couple of Formulas there close to my size so maybe one of them was out there, they are more than capable, but I can pretty much guarantee that I was the only single engine out there. This is the main reason I bought the boat. Like I was saying at lunch to a couple of people, "I didn't come all this way for light beer!" I even got a chance to tell Reggie about my little run. So without disrespecting any other brand or anything......You can get on the beak and true length all you want, but where were you??? (speaking to similar sized boats here)

I DIDN'T COME ALL THIS WAY FOR LIGHT BEER!!!! :drink:

That is fregging AWESOME!!!!!

We spent a week at a marina in Jacksonville on some friends cruisers in April. Way back when in my Navy days I was stationed right there in Mayport on a destroyer. It was neat to be pleasure boating outside of the base all these years later. We went out of the Mayport inlet a couple of times and stuck our bow in the ocean, but the whole time it was killing me thinking about how much more fun it would have been in our Fountain.

We also made the run to St. Augustine but we did it on the IC and it took at least 2 1/2 hours. Im glad that your trip was more exciting :drink:

That's what the sets seemed to be to me, so not consistent, but somewhere I hit something really big and the boat loved it, although I was flying so high, I was waiting for the cute girl to walk down the aisle with my peanuts and stuff. Leon's wife (Taboo) said at lunch that they flew that big thing a few times out there as well
. By the way, did you stop sweating yet? Man was it hot! I was thinking you were going to melt away before our eyes! :eek: On a serious note, did you get to check your drives yet? I remember Leon talking about a toe in issue he thought he saw. Hope you get your prop stuff figured out soon, that's a great boat!

Usane, I had a 2000 29 Fever and I had it out in some nasty stuff and if you keep it above 55mph drive out and tabd a little past neg the boat will fly and skip across the tops perfectly. Plus what a lot of people do not realize how stout and sturdy the 29 Fountain really is.

Unsane, a blue 28 Sunsation 496 HO made that run down with you. A Purple/Yellow 32 SS T525 boat made it was well. I ran out in my 32 for a minute and looped back to the ICW. My back was killing me from work that week and I didn't want to wreck my weekend on the first day! I arrived in St Aug. at the same time the pack was coming in the inlet but I had a nice sit down cruise. Next year I will be running outside with you to get a little airtime.........

Cool! Maybe next year a bunch of us 20 somethings can run together. The guys in Taboo were running about 108 in that stuff but be broke one K-plane (hydraulic line). I would of liked to have seen that! Bill was telling everyone at lunch how he handed another boat from another company its a$$. I guess this guy "challenged" him. Bill's 42 is powered by Merc 1075's Now that's a fast boat! :evilb:

That Taboo boat is much better looking with the new paint. I met Bill at the Daytona PR and he had just gotten the boat and it wasn't painted yet. I ran from Ponce Inlet to St. Aug. next to him last month. He never broke 60 MPH due a passenger request............so that is why I got to see the boat!!! Otherwise it would have been a rooster tail in the distance!!
