My '89 36 Fever was made 8/9/88 and the performance report shows the X dim as 18.5" but is not correct. I can't remember but it is either 16.5 or 16.75. I have talked to guys at Fountain about raising the X, going to shorty drives and using extension boxes and have decided to try shorties. They told me that I should definitely see some improvement by changing the prop depth. They also said that unless I need more leverage that the boxes were not necessary but I also do not boat offshore even though the inland lake here does get choppy, it is not rough. I did not want to get into changing the transom cutout when mine is good and then I am stuck with the change. So for now, I decided to do the shorties. I am working on reinstalling the T/A assemblies and adding full hydraulic steering now and plan to reinstall the motors and run some this season before trying shorties so I can do some comparisons. I am also making some slight upgrades to the motors and want to know what if anything improved.
