Speed Loss by Rotating Props Out?
My 35 is terrible to back and handle around the dock, bars, etc. I have my props spinning in, and have heard that rotating out would be a lot easier. I just want to know what others have found in their Fountains. Thanks.

Re: Speed Loss by Rotating Props Out?
Ditto to rouxsterre's comment. With one set of props, I actually ran faster with them turning out. I am still learning how to back the boat into a tight slip but, now at least I have a chance with them rotating out. I also have a single step 32' Fever. Going forward the boat handles great turning out or in.
It may be a little different if you are running close to 90 but mine runs in the low 80's and it is easy to drive. |
Re: Speed Loss by Rotating Props Out?
My 35 TS turn out , My old 32 turned in, SS , found the 35 more bankable around dock's although the 32 wasn"t bad. They told me at fountain in 00 the 35's turned out , but I don"t see to many turning out.Later in year I will try turning in.

Re: Speed Loss by Rotating Props Out?
I'll try some back to back tests with my Hydro Quad 4s 29" pitch. They really don't back very good now. I had heard of a couple miles per hour speed loss with props turning out.

Re: Speed Loss by Rotating Props Out?
The only problem I've had with spinning em out, is getting on plane in reverse. I'm thinkin I need more stern lift. . . .
. . . 'cause of the step and all . . . |
Re: Speed Loss by Rotating Props Out?
No noticable speed loss when I changed over to spinning out. Spining in and the boat felt real loose at WOT. Docking is 10x better out than in.
