Anyone heard how the new drives are holding up, now that they are getting some hours on them in the field? I heard the transmissions are creating some problems. Probably just a rumor, dont think Mercury would release them if it was.

I mean DAMN Fountain really is going to be known as the CAT KILLER boat, 116mph, on stock Merc power. I am amazed to see it, I remember just a few years ago it took like twin 1000s to get a V into those #s

WILL :drink:

They have made some changes to the transmissions. Not sure of the problems, but they retrofitted all of the existing packages that were out there.

PowerboatsNW, what props did you run? Do you have the new improved water pickups in the drive?
Shogren has one, and a couple months back we ran it on some of the inland lakes out here, and with 5 people, full of fuel, and not being able to trim the drives out at all, we seen 115. Then we ran out of lake. Scott said that Mercury was redoing the water intake in the drive so that when you trim it out you won't lose water pressure.
We ran Herring 6 bladers on it then.
