When I was on it back in 01, it had Stelling big tube headers, and Merc 800's. I believe the drives are wet sump, unless they were converted. The boat was originally owned by Norval Stahley, who owned Everglades Marine in Ft Lauderdale.
My buddy was his mechanic and we used to take it out for a ride. :D

Good hull? I have been thinking about this rig for awhile now. The old ad before the broker got the boat mentioned a stringer replacement?

Everglades set up a couple of big Fountains with the throttles on the right. One was a red 42 tested in power boat around 93 or so.

It has been for sale on Offshore over the Spring time.
It's has also been for sale on E-Bay about the end of August.
The bidding went just over 70k. If I remember correctly the "BUY IT NOW" price was in the 90's.
A buddy of mine drove out to Ohio when it was on e-bay.
He said it was a clean boat... the owner guaranteed it would do 95mph... couldn't put his money where his mouth was though...
My buddy said he would buy it if it did do 95... had the cash ready to go 75k, but the owner got cold feet and said he had someone else interested in it.
The auction ended and then they re-listed it for a couple of days...
That's when the broker guy must have picked it up... cleaned it up a little more and JACKED UP THE PRICE.

Do you recall the fiberglass work that was mentioned in the previous ad?

From what I remember of it, the stringers were cracked in the engine compartment around the fuel tanks, or they were seperating away from the floor. From what I've read, Fountain went through the whole boat.
I believe the problem came from the cleats up front. When it rained or it got washed, no one knew it then, but the water got into the boat, and got trapped under the floor, because there was'nt any way for it to drain into the bilge, or it was clogged, or something of that kind.
All in all, it rotted the cabin floor, and there were some stringers that wer'nt resin coated very good and all the bare wood got soft too.
