Too Much water Pressure

Strange thing happened today we were out on the 35 and the water pressure guage was pegged at 35 psi at anything over 2200 Rpms I was thinking thermostat restriction any suggestions

T-stat housing design. Not big enough internal bypass circut.
I had same problem, so broke down and installed the Merc relief valve setup. Kinda pricey, but now my pressure is maxed at 19-20.

I've heard about this problem many times but have never experienced it on my 35Ex w/496 HO Mags...anybody had this problem with these engines. I would like to head it off at the pass if it is an issue!

Never had problems with my 502s, but really had problems when I went to 540s. Mercury relief valves worked well.

We have adjustable valves. Must be set with a guage but MUCH cheaper than the Merc part. $ 89.98 each.
