It's now on Ebay and I'm hoping for some bidding. Maybe a southern home for the boat will work at this time of year? :)

Re: Selling my Fountain

It's now sold!!! :D Thanks Ebay. If anyone is interested, The details are; 7 day auction, had 24 watchers by the end, 3 bidders, sold for $56,000, 2 back up callers waiting for the deal to fall through on the winner that really wanted the boat.
The market is good I think if you have a nice straight boat with fairly low hours and most important...stock original power. Buyer was clear on this. The ad needs to be well written too. Buyers commented on this too. The price was realistic. If I carried it over the winter here up north I would have had to get thousands more to break even with this deal.

Thought I would share this as there was another thread asking if the market is slow or what?

Wow congrats on selling your boat so fast. I have never used Ebay to sell anything. I have a 2005 47 Lightning that I am trying to sell. Do you think Ebay would work at that kind of price range? What are the fees if you sell something in the $275,000- $290,000 range? Sorry for the stupid questions but I have not become the Ebay user that most of my friends are. Thanks Mike

Re: Selling my Fountain

I do not think there are any fees other than the listing cost. The fees that you will pay are from PayPal. They get a percentage of the funds transfered so just do not use paypal for other than the deposit. It cost me about 45.00 for the listing for 7 days. I have sold a ferrari, 23 Scarab scs, Excursion Diesel, MB CLK 430 and other high end items with lots of luck although non at your range. It could work well but I think the price needs to be pretty realistic to sell. Good Luck.
