Hull difference between 38 fever 38 lightning
Im trying to find out if there is a difference in the hulls between my 1999 38 fever and an 01 38 lightning. I know 2001s have the smaller steps as does mine is there anything different other than the decks. As most of you know from my new member introduction my Fever is for sale and I am trying to make a deal on an 01. Thanks for the help.

Re: Hull difference between 38 fever 38 lightning
As far as I know Fountain changed the 38 lightning hulls for the 2002 model year - they dropped the Fever for the 2002 model year. It was my understanding there was no difference between the fever and the lightning hulls for the few years that they made both.

The 1999 Fever has the small twin steps and the 2001Lightning has the larger positive lift hull steps.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-13038.html Above is a 2001 Lightning - side by side engines, no stagger - the same hull and small steps as my 2000 38 Fever. Below is a 2002 Lightning - half stagger with the bigger steps. http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-12052.html |
Re: Hull difference between 38 fever 38 lightning
Sorry to correct you Mike but the 2001 has the small steps as well. 2002 was the first year for the larger steps on the 38 lightning. I was just curious about the position of the steps and the x dimension and so on.
