In my 29 fever i put the amps under the ice chest in the cabin really i pulled the ice chest out and put my cd changer and everything in that hole.
In my 35 I put them on the wall in the storage locker.

On our 35 twin step, the amp was mounted inside the hanging locker on the port side of the cabin. Only problem I saw with that was that there was not a lot of ventilation for the heat it could produce. :D

Re: amps, where are they?

I have 3 amps mounted on the starboard side of the cabin between the seat cushion and the back rest, I also have 2 small cooling fans blowing across the face of the amps to help with cooling...I will see if I have any pics for you.

It really worked out nice, all of the wiring is concealed behind the seat cushion.

Re: amps, where are they?

I'm using my Babbs for the cockpit speakers, and adding 2 amps and 2 10" subs now. Going to mount those down at drivers and passengers feet side. The 6x9 are standard location, rear bench seat. the 5 1/4's are going in either in the Fountain side light emblems, or right in front of them. Haven't decided which yet. Thoughts????

I temp. dry fitted both the amps in the sink cabinet where the cooler was, but my AC is also in there. Possibly electrical interference issues. I'm afraid I'll have heat issues, especially when the AC is running. The compressor puts out some heat. Really don't want to add a cooling fan. Something else drawing juice. Plus the amps would be 1/2" from the bottom side of the countertop, so cooling may be a problem between those 2 conditions. And would loose that storage space.

These boats are just not made to be modified much.

I'm going to move them to behind the rear bench seat back up above the battery switches tommorrow. That is a totally open area between the seat back and the engine compartment bulkhead. Heat shouldn't be a problem and it is dry, unless the boat sinks. Plus they can't be seen unless you stick your head down inside the rear seat and look up. And no loss of storage. Thought about the hanging locker, but we stay on the boat every and all weekend, so that space is full. Storage space is a premium.

Re: amps, where are they?

US1- When I had my 32 I had the amp along with a sub capacitor mounted in the hanging closet. I believe this is the best area. Some mount them under the sink. In my 38 they are mounted under the back seat on the back firewall.

Any problems at all back there?
Are yours mounted down near the floor visable when the seat is lifted, or up high outta sight?

I think this will be my best spot. Out of sight, no storage space lost, dry, wide open for cooling, easy access for adjustment.

Thanks

They are mounted near the floor on the firewall visable when the seat is lifted. Thew amps are close to the batteries which is hhow it should be. Also, they are easy to adjust. Have not had any problems. Try not to drench the back seat with water. Other than that it is ok. In my 32 I had the Amp in the closet which was a terrible pain in the ass for adjustments.

In My 35 They Are Behind The Starboard Sliding Panel Between Seats

Re: amps, where are they?

Gott'm mounted up behind the bench seat back. Took some fabricating for a mount system to work, but got'r done.

Used 2 flat SS plates to mount each amp too and rolled the top edges over. (upside down J). And made 2 'J' plates that bolted to the bulkhead up high. Had to unbolt the trim pump panel to drill the mounting holes and bolt them on. Just lift the amps up inside the space and hook them on the J plates, then using 2 screws on the bottom to hold them down tight.

Should workout great. Can't see them unless you stick your head down in the seat, but still can adjust them w/o removing them.
