What products can be used on the plexiglass winshields?
 

So many different products out there claim to be great on plexiglass but that little sticker Reggie puts on the windscreen has made me paranoid about using any of them. Are any of you using anything to wax, or remove water spots, or light chamois swirls that work and wont damage or cause fogging or that nasty crazing I have seen on so many boats. After seeing the prices that it cost to replace this stuff I dont want to put the wrong stuff on the plexiglass. All I have used to date is water - Thanks

Im not sure of the name but alot of people use the stuff for motorcycle windscreens. Its designed for plastics and shouldnt cause and crazing.

I use either Novus or Plexus platic cleaner and polish and nothing else. You can get Novus at any Harley dealer and Plexus can be found at West Marine or Boaters World and many other places.

Any plastic shop will have the cleaner on shelf. Just make sure the cloth you use to dry it is SUPER soft. No tee shirt stuff. That'll scratch the plastic.
I replaced both of my side panels do to the crazing right after I bought my boat. They was bad, and only 4yrs old.
I only use boat soap and water to wash, then dry with an Absorber.

I have used the Novus (comes in 3 grits) and a plexi/plastic polish from 3M that worked very well. My last boat had a plexi w/s and it looked new 6 years later when I sold it. I used the polish on it about twice a season.

Then I would continue with just water and soap. Just watch what you use to dry it with. I prefer an absorber over a dry towel. If it ain't got scratches, no need for polishes.

I use the Novus medium, then fine grade at work to polish acrylic to a glass like finish after maching the material and wet sanding. Alot of work to get out even the finest marks more than a rub mark.

Get the proper cloth as stated above.

Don't use paper towels like the OL guys :evilb:
