Now what do I do?

I've been researching like mad on what options I need to utilize on restoring the 90 '29. I've purchased a couple of hydromotive 29x15.5 props and I've had the 502's built with crane cams. My engine builder has said the power should be around 525 an engine, though, I'm still waiting for the dyno. some say this setup would be good for 80mph? Does this sound right? Prior to my putting the engines in (or complete rebuild) is there any advice on what I should do

When it's all said and done, throw those on and see what you get out of them.

Thanks for the input. :) I'm anxiously awaiting good weather to find out if the hydromotive 4 blade 28's will make a difference! I hear on the forum alot about drive ratios. Would I be able to change ratios without changing drives? What's involved?

I have the same boat as you. I would like to know how your boat handles with those props. When I repowered, I switched from 14.5" dia. props to 15.25" dia. Bravo 1 four blades and the chine walk is so severe, you can't drive out of it and have to let out of it. I was thinking of trying a Bravo 1 that has been cut down to a smaller diameter.

Umm, you'll have to excuse my lack of marine knowledge, what is a chine walk? The props I did buy are the 15.25 x28p
I could be in for a dissapointment then???

Fountainkyfever,

You should be right in the ballpark with those props. The hydromotives are a great prop for the twin big block 29 fever.
Spin the props outward (meaning port propeller spins left and starboard propeller spins right.) Make sure there is no diffusser ring on the Hydromotives. They usually come without them. My 91' 29 fever is set up with 454's @ 425HP,
with stellings extension boxes (raised 3'' and set back 1 foot) and Imco 2'' shorter lowers (the propeller shaft x-dimension is 2'' inches higher than a standard Bravo) I'm spinning Hydromotive 27" pitch 5 blades and my WOT rpm is 5100 on both engines. So with 525hp and the standard bravo setup you should see 5000-5200rpm with the 28 hydro four blades. If you have any questions or seemed confuse or just need clarification, feel free to give me a call. Nixter (513) 617-9102.....in Cincinnati!:D
