The important thing is to make sure the bunks go past the transom and to have the bunks cut to support the step hull properly...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
|
I agree. I just can't get over how many lifts I see that have a couple short bunks in the rear, then a simple Vee bunk up front. Not to mention half the boat length hanging over the front Vee. There has got to be a lot of pressure on that point. Mainly on the larger boat lifts, 42' or so and up.

Just purchased an 8k lbs poly lift for the 27. The lift is two years old and is from the prior owner of the boat....fit for the boat. The manuf. is going to un-install, transport, and re-install for $800....sound reasonable?

Called Fountain Customer Service and they faxed me the engineering drawing with precise measurements for a custom cradle to fit the stepped hull exactly. My boat lift guy made it for me from treated wood and galvanized metal for $2000 and it works perfect. I use a remote to raise it out of the water when I am out for the day. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i have a 12k in ohio. its in the swap shop. What are the details on your lift. I found a 16K that will be perfect for my buddy but to big for me. I have my 35 on an 8K and I need to completely refab the bunks for the twin step or preferably upgrade. You can reach me at 518 441-5379. Thanks Dan |
