35 exhaust

Are flappers needed on a 35? Thinking about removing the Imco hi perf muffler tips and going with standard thru hull tips with no flapper.

Indy
Dont know about the 35, but the last 32 I bought had water go back through the exaust due to the previous owner hitting something and stopping suddenly. You ran that turd yet? :D

INDY27 04-03-2007 08:08 PM

Not yet, how is your project going? Are you running flappers on your 35?

I'm going to for cheap insurance, but I'm going to be running 100+! Project will be running sometime this summer. Graphics will be going on in a week or 2. You know how a week or 2 goes . Still need a couple HP gimbals.
What did you decide on for drives?

INDY27 04-03-2007 09:13 PM

I plan on using the Bravos for now and keeping a spare.:D What graphics did you decide on?

Just get billet top caps

jryan26 04-03-2007 09:26 PM

Kind of like Livorsis old 38.

Rebel_Heart 04-03-2007 10:14 PM

My engine builder said that I didn't need flappers, but I put them on so I wasn't worried about it all of the time. They do look better without, but always worried coming off plane or sitting where waves are rolling in.

tomtbone1993 04-03-2007 11:42 PM

I would leave the flappers in, what about backing it in the water?

BTW did the indicator tabs show up yet?

INDY27 04-04-2007 05:54 AM

They did come in but unfortunately they are a different design from the one in my boat, I will send them back today. Are you guys using muffler tips or silent choice?

BeakBoater35 04-06-2007 12:37 PM

I totally agree.

Fountains sit too low in the back to not use them in my opinion. Heck they are underneath and outta sight anyways.

What about your drives? Straight tips or mufflers? Never saw Livorsi's old 38, post a pic for us Tito! :chimp:

I like this one also, but with blue/silver :chimp: Im going to do the smart thing and run standard bravos with billet top caps. I guess when I blow up the 5 that I have, I might have to get xr's.

Rebel_Heart 04-06-2007 08:45 PM

I put the flappers on the 4 1/2" CMI tails. No tips or silent choice.

35 fountain 04-06-2007 08:52 PM

I would leave the flappers - boat sits low, waves roll in. When I am anchored out I leave my silent choise pumped up just to add another set of flappers just to make sure no water gets in there.

jryan26 04-06-2007 09:29 PM
