fountain 24cs quik question
hello, i am curious as to whether or not its possible (i know anything is possible if you throw enough money at it but..) to convert a 24cs to an open bow instead of having it as a cuddy? how much do you think this would cost and who would be able to do such a conversion?
looking at getting a 24cs for inland lake use....but the extra seating would be nice to have..... thx zak |
WOW...now there is a project! Sure anything is possible for the right amount of money! Make sure who ever does the work knows exactly what they are doing and about boat design to insure the safety of you and crew.

I wonder if you would compromise the structure of the boat? I guess you could re-enforce stuff, but sure does sound like a project. Would be a neat one off.

well the issue is that the boat only holds what 6 people at most and with a bow rider the kids could sit up front..our lake isnt that large anyway and the only way i think we can convince our wives (brother and I going in on purchase) is if we buy a bow rider...we have a 21 foot sea ray sorrento now that we have POUNDED on for 16+ yrs and we have always wanted a fountain.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thx

There is a guy here that converted a 27 into a bowrider. Do a search and you will find what I am talking about. I wanna say that there was a company around Indiana that does wonders with fiberglass and they did the bowrider. But really, a 24 fountain is not worth converting to a bowrider - the money would be better spent on a nice sunsation or a West coast boat, which I hate. The guy who converted his to a bow rider had bought the boat new and was paid off - which may be worth it. I don't think you will get but maybe 2 extra seats at most out of it on a 24.
