502 Oil Filter??
 

Do your oil filter mount from the top or bottom? I want to run the larger merc filters but they do not fit. I am thinking of flipping the brackets so they mount on top. Do you think this is a good idea? I was told that the top mount is the way it should be. Any suggestions?

My 35 is set up for top mount, I like it better than the bottom mount on my 27. Easier to do oil changes.

If you punch a hole in the top of the oil filter it will drain
the bulk of the oil back into the pan, It will then be less messy
to remove.

my 502 mpi is a top mount big filter .
