What are the little screen engine monitors called?
 

I just watched the videos by Reggie. On one of his boats, he had a small screen device that looks like a gps that showed the rpm's of each engine, along with the fuel economy.

Are these units able to be installed on any of the electronic fuel injected engines that are on the fountains?

Or only on the newer year models? I am looking at a 02 lightning with 500's. Can this unit be installed as an aftermarket electronic device??

Several different options from Livorsi. A friend has a pair of the small rectanular sytem view monitors on his 38 Fountain, mounted over the tab and drive indicators. Thinking about putting them on my boat.

I didn't think the 500efi's could do Smartcraft?

Won't work on 500EFi's.

The smartcraft is now standard. However, Northstar offers an
upgraded unit that uses the SC system and a Northstar GPS.

So they will only work on the 496, and the 525's?

I beleive anything with a PCM555 controller. All new Mercs aside from carb models should work. Even the race motors all the way up to the 1200SCI I believe.

That makes a full line of fuel flow instruments. On my last boat I installed a dual fuel flow, dual tach, with engine sycronizer, fuel counter and all of this communicates with the GPS and it gives you miles per gallon as well. All of this can be done in your two tach and one speedo holes in the dash, or if you already have the GPS then only the two holes are required. It worked very well, and was totally accurate. Only problem was I kept forgetting to look where I was going, just wanted to watch all of the cool new instruments. Take a look at the web site listed above.
