380s K Planes on a 38

Has anyone ever tried 380 K planes on a 38 vs the standard 280 k planes? I am wondering if the longer tabs will improve the ride attitude in the rough stuff. By the way the boat is a 99 small step with 500s. Boat needs to run a lot of tab in the rough. Wondering if the longer tabs will allow me to run less tab and still keep the boat level as well as improve ride. Let me know

Most of the f2's ran 280's and super v's 380's. It will do as you mentioned. I drove a f2-1 and tried the longer plates but chose not race with them. Partly because it didn't go faster and there was a greater chance of over use and trouble resulting from too much tab.
Its a matter of personal preference.

Thanks for the response. Is there anything as far as maneuverability that I will have to watch out for and will the boat ride better in the bigger 2,3,4 ft waves.

Just make sure the drives can't hit them, they shouldn't but check. Be careful not to move them too much at high speed. I can't say whether it will ride better for you, we chose not to race with them. You might enjoy them more at cruise speeds. Its is easy to change the plates maybe a buddy will let you try his. My personal preference on a 38 fever was the 280's.

I went to the 380's...they were way to sensitive, So I went back to the 280's.

380s work real well on my 35 EX - set em at 3 and forget em - just makes the boat another 2 feet longer.
